South West Water Forum
As part of the regional water planning process, the Government committed to establishing a South West Water Forum (SWWF). The purpose of the SWWF is to provide:
- south west stakeholders with regular updates on the development of the State and South West Regional Water Plan;
- an opportunity to develop better partnerships between community and agencies for water management; and
- an avenue for south west stakeholders to advise on regional water issues, policy and implementation issues arising from the development of the South West Regional Water Plan.
The membership consists of peak bodies and representative groups from sectors including irrigation, agriculture, business and industry, environment, water management, service delivery and recreation.
The first meeting of the Forum was held on 15 March 2006 in Bunbury. The minutes and powerpoint presentations from all meetings are provided below:
There has been a lot of debate at the first meeting on the choice of boundaries for the South West Regional Water Plan. A decision has been made to use the South West Development Commission boundary. Click here for more information on why this decision was made.
