Support & Advice for Salinity Management

The purpose of this subprogram is to provide technical advice and support to implement other Departmental and external projects outlined in the Salinity Strategy, including Lakes Toolibin and Muir – Unicup, and Rural Towns work.

We have published a range of reports that provide advice and support for salinity management. For the three priority catchments of the Swan–Canning rivers, the Water and Rivers Commission produced groundwater information and management options for the Brockman River catchment, hydrogeological information for management planning in the Ellen Brook catchment, and groundwater information for management of the Upper Canning Southern Wungong catchment. The Commission also produced a summary of groundwater information for management of the Ellen Brook, Brockman River and Upper Canning Southern Wungong catchments.

Other advice and reports include the hydrogeology of the Muir-Unicup catchments, and water yield response to land use change in south-west Western Australia.
