Foreshore Policy No. 1 - Identifying the Foreshore Area
Developed originally by the Water and Rivers Commission, now the Department of Water, our policy is that the process for determining appropriate foreshore areas should be based on biological and physical criteria . This Policy position forms the basis by which all future foreshore and riparian land management policy is developed and provides a consistent methodology for the assessment and determination of foreshore areas.
