Along with documenting Farm Water Zone information, and investigating regional farm water supply issues, the Department of Agriculture also provides farm and station water technical support to the rural community when required.
The farm water supply assessment process for Farm Water Grants Scheme applicants is assisted by approved Farm Water Planners/Assessors. The Farm Water Planners/Assessors are generally either Community Landcare Technicians or other private agricultural consultants with knowledge of farm water supply requirements.
The involvement of Community Landcare Technicians and agricultural consultants ensures good integration of farm water supply management into sustainable agricultural practices.
Technical officers based in regional Department of Agriculture offices support the operation of the Pastoral Water Grants Scheme.
