Changes to the Waterwise Rebate Program

Domestic garden bore

If used responsibly and located away from the ocean, river systems and wetlands, bores can be an environmentally friendly way to keep your garden healthy and save you money. A Waterwise Rebate of $300 or 50 per cent of the installation cost (whichever is the lesser amount) for a new bore, in an area deemed suitable for a bore by the Department of Water, is available per residential property to the owner of the property.

The rebate only applies for successful bores that deliver water. Rebates are not available for bore maintenance, new pumps, reticulation, shared bore hook-up to an existing bore, or for bores installed in areas deemed as unsuitable for a bore by the Department of Water. Electric work for all bores must be in accordance with the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991.

Products still eligible for rebates under the revised 2008-09 Waterwise Rebate Program are listed below.

For all purchases made between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009, you have until 30 September 2009 to claim the applicable rebate.
