Terms and conditions All rebates apply only to domestic projects and do not cover renting, leasing, hiring arrangements or commercial applications. - To be eligible for a Waterwise Rebate, you must complete in full and sign the rebate form and include photocopies of the requested tax invoices. Please DO NOT send original tax invoices and receipts, as we cannot guarantee they will be returned.
- Details provided may be used to audit that the products purchased have been installed correctly to guidelines and within the Terms and Conditions of the Waterwise Rebate Program.
- The rebates offered under the current program are only available for purchases made and claimed between 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008. From 30 September 2007 no rebate is payable for products purchased before 30 June 2007 that attracted a rebate under the previous rebate program. Washing machines rated 4 stars, purchased on or before 31 December 2007, have until 31 March 2008 to claim the applicable rebate. For all purchases made between 1 July 2007 and 30 June 2008, you have until 30 September 2008 to claim the applicable rebate.
- Elements of the Waterwise Rebate Program are subject to change without notice.
- Rebates are only available to residential properties that are habitable. Only the householder is eligible to apply. (Companies or businesses are not elligble to apply.)
- Rebates are not available for commercial properties or purposes.
- Charitable organisations are eligible for rebates for domestic use; however, not-for-profit organisations such as sporting clubs are not eligible to apply.
- Strata companies, managing agents, builders and developers are not eligible to apply.
Waterwise garden irrigation systems - A Waterwise Rebate of $300 or 50 per cent of the installation cost (whichever is the lesser amount) is available per residential property for the installation of a new Waterwise Irrigation System.
- To be eligible for the rebate, the system must be installed by an endorsed Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Irrigator. Click here for a list.
- For the irrigation system to be eligible for a rebate, it must meet the waterwise irrigator installer standard, which includes: a rain sensor/soil moisture sensor; a multiprogram controller compliant with Water Corporation watering days programming; a scheduling card; and strict design/installation criteria.
- The customer may apply for the rebate as soon as the system is installed and is operational.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) a copy of the tax invoice and receipt from the Waterwise garden irrigator. This must detail the system and controller installed.
- The new system must be for the whole front yard, whole back yard or both and include lawn and garden beds, but not verges. Rebates will not be paid for parts thereof or irrigation system maintenance, new controllers, or new reticulation to an existing controller.
- The applicant must be the owner of the property (tenants must have written approval from the owner to apply).
- Strata companies, managing agents, builders and developers are not eligible to apply.
- Only one irrigation system rebate (front, rear or entire garden) to the maximum value of $300 is available per property.
Rain sensors - The Waterwise Rebate of $20 is only available for rain sensors endorsed under the Smart Approved Watermark Scheme. Click here for a list
- The rebate is limited to one rain sensor per domestic household and must have been purchased on or after 1 July 2005.
- The customer may apply for the rebate as soon as the item is purchased.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) a copy of the tax invoice or receipt. This must state the make and model number of the rain sensor.
Subsurface irrigation systems - The Waterwise Rebate of $10 is only available for 30m rolls of subsurface irrigation pipework endorsed under the Smart Approved Watermark Scheme. Click here for a list.
- The rebate is limited to 10 rolls of subsurface irrigation pipework per domestic household and must have been purchased on or after 1 July 2005.
- The customer may apply for the rebate as soon as the item is purchased.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) the barcode information from the product packaging and a copy of the receipt.
Waterwise garden assessments - The Waterwise Rebate of $30 is only available for Waterwise garden assessments performed by endorsed Water Corporation Waterwise Garden Centres. Click here for a list.
- The rebate is limited to one garden assessment per domestic household and applies to assessments completed on or after the 1 July 2005.
- The customer may apply for the rebate as soon as the assessment is conducted.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) a copy of the tax invoice or receipt and a copy of the Waterwise garden assessment.
Swimming pool covers - The Waterwise Rebate of $200 (capped at 50% of the total cost) is only available for swimming pool covers endorsed under the Smart Approved Watermark Scheme with a minimum warranty of eight years. Click here for a list.
- The rebate is limited to one pool cover per domestic household.
- The customer may apply for the rebate as soon as the item is purchased.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) a copy of the tax invoice or receipt, stating the make and model number of the pool cover.
- Rebate of $200 applies only to purchases completed on or after the 1 July 2007. A rebate of $100 applies to purchases completed between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2007.
Flow regulators - The Waterwise Rebate of $2 is only available on flow regulators with a water rating of “3 stars” or better Click here for a list.
- The rebate is limited to a maximum of $20 per domestic household.
- To be eligible for a rebate, the customer must attach (to the completed rebate form) a copy of the tax invoice and receipt as proof of installation of an approved flow regulator. The invoice must state the make and model of the regulator installed.
Greywater re-use systems - The Waterwise Rebate is only available for greywater re-use systems that are approved by the Department of Health. Click here for a list.
- The rebate is limited to one greywater re-use system per domestic household.
- A Waterwise Rebate of up to $500 applies for greywater re-use systems.
- The rebate is available for both sewered and non-sewered residential properties.
- The rebate is available once the greywater re-use system has been installed and a “Permit to Use Apparatus” has been received from your Local Government (Shire).
- A rebate will only be granted for greywater re-use systems where the effluent is used for irrigation purposes.
- Where required, installation of the greywater re-use system must be undertaken by a licensed plumber in accordance with plumbing by-laws.
- When claiming a rebate, copies of the tax invoices showing the purchase details and plumbing work must be submitted with the completed rebate form.
Washing machines From 1 January 2008, only washing machines with a rating of 4.5 stars or higher will be eligible for a Waterwise Rebate of $150. Washing machines with a 4 star rating are only eligible for a Waterwise Rebate of $150 until 31 December 2007. Washing machines rated 4 stars purcharsed on or before 31 December 2007, have until 31 March 2007 to claim and receive the applicable rebate. Click here for a list. - The rebate is limited to one washing machine rebate per domestic household.
- The rebate is available once the washing machine has been fully paid, installed and is operational.
- A copy of the tax invoice or receipt, stating the make and model number of the washing machine and showing payment in full, is required to receive the rebate.
- Offer not valid for second-hand washing machines, rental agreements or commercial applications.
Rainwater tanks - A $50 rebate applies for purchase and installation of new domestic tanks over 600 litres that are not plumbed in, or up to $600 (capped at 50% of the purchase and plumbing in costs) if the tank has a capacity greater than 2,000 litres and is plumbed in for toilet and/or washing machine use at the time of installation. Plumbing into the house must be undertaken by a licensed plumber, in accordance with plumbing by-laws.
- A copy of the tax invoice for the purchase and (if claiming the maximum rebate) a copy of the tax invoice and receipt for plumbing work, must be submitted with the completed rebate form.
- You must check with your local council for approval prior to purchase and installation.
- When installing rainwater tanks, you must ensure you have adequate mosquito controls.
- One rebate per household to a maximum of $600 for purchases and installation on or after the 1 July 2007. A maximum rebate of $500 applies to purchases and installation completed between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2007.
Garden bores - A Waterwise Rebate of $300 or 50 per cent of the installation cost (whichever is the lesser amount) is available per residential property for the drilling of a new bore.
- If the garden bore is installed by a licensed driller, you must submit (with the completed rebate form) the licensed driller’s details together with copies of the tax invoice and receipts.
- Electrical work for all bores must be in accordance with the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991.
- For bores installed by persons other than licensed drillers, copies of tax invoices and receipts for items used in the installation and electrical work must be included with the completed rebate form.
- The rebate is only applicable to successful bores that deliver water.
- Properties sharing a bore must be adjoining to be eligible for the rebate.
- Rebate not valid for bore maintenance, new pumps, reticulation or share bore hook-up to an existing bore.
- Applicant must be the owner of the property (tenants must have written approval from the owner to apply).
- Strata companies, managing agents, builders and developers are not eligible to apply.
- To be eligible for a $300 rebore rebate, a minimum of $600 must be spent on redrilling and lining the existing bore to make it operational (does not include pump, electrical or reticulation costs).
- Only one garden bore rebate (new bore, rebore or shared bore) to the maximum value of $300 available per property.
