Washing machines

A water-efficient washing machine can reduce water use in the laundry by up to 40 per cent.

Just look for the water efficiency star rating before you buy your new machine.

A washing machine rebate of $150 is available for washing machines with a 4.5 star or higher water efficiency rating.

Customers who purchased washing machines rated 4 stars on or before 31 December 2007, have until 31 March 2008 to claim the $150 rebate.

From 1 January 2008, washing machines rated 4 stars are no longer eligible for a washing machine rebate.

The rebate is limited to one washing machine rebate per domestic household and you can apply for your rebate once your new washing machine has been installed.
