What projects are being implemented as part of the Gnangara Sustainability Strategy?

The Gnangara Sustainability Strategy (GSS) is an across-government initiative working on an action plan that will ensure the sustainable use of water for drinking and commercial purposes, and for protecting the environment.

The Gnangara groundwater system and the natural environment on which it depends, is being monitored by the Department of Water, to ensure that sufficient water is available for the community's needs. However, reduced average rainfall requires additional measures to ensure this resource is not over-utilised.

A lot of work has already been undertaken and a number of gaps have been identified. Through the GSS, we are working on several projects to fill those gaps through the following projects:
